In Sunday's earlier game, Marius Buelter scored in the final minute to give Cologne a 1-0 win at 10-man Mainz.

Mainz were reduced to 10 men when winger Paul Nebel was red carded for a last man foul with half an hour remaining.

With the match headed for stoppage time, Buelter leapt high to head in a Luca Waldschmidt cross.

Cologne, promoted alongside Hamburg at the end of last season, last won a top-flight match in May 2024.
